The initial layout presented several challenges. First of all, it had a long hallway that detracted a lot of functionality to the house. In addition, the imbalance between the spaces was very noticeable, as it had a very large living room, but a kitchen that was too small. To solve these problems, we decided to open the kitchen to the living room, thus creating a fluid space that would eliminate the feeling of confinement and provide greater visual amplitude to the whole house.
However, with the design we not only sought to maximize functionality, but also to integrate details that would add personality. To this end, we incorporated solid wood pillars that helped to separate, in a very subtle and elegant way, the kitchen from the living room. In this way, we brought warmth and a sense of connection with nature to the whole space, creating a very relaxing and cozy atmosphere.
