An architectural project developed in the center of the Madrid neighborhood of Fuente del Berro, to transform a conventional home into a contemporary, bright and functional space.
The original home of Rita, the owner of the property, had a traditional layout with a closed kitchen, lacking in space and light.
The renovation proposal focused on reinventing the space, integrating the kitchen, living room and dining room to create a large room harmoniously connected to the balcony.
Rita's vision and lifestyle inspired every design decision we made, from the distribution of spaces to the choice of materials. The new proposal seeks integration and spaciousness, highlighting a unified living-dining-kitchen area to promote luminosity and make the most of the access to the balcony. An additional bathroom has also been incorporated to provide greater comfort to the inhabitants of the house.
The design fuses modern and industrial elements, highlighting the original structure of the house. The concrete beams and pillars are exposed, providing an industrial touch, while the wood floors and kitchen convey warmth and balance the aesthetics.
We have incorporated curves in the main volume of bathrooms and tertiary bedroom to soften the long corridor, adding a concealed LED strip trough to highlight the cladding. The concrete beam has been highlighted with indirect lighting to highlight it as a valuable architectural element.
Priority has also been given to generating efficient storage spaces to maximize organization and functionality throughout the home.
This is a renovation project that has allowed a better spatiality, achieving more spacious and luminous rooms that prioritize functionality and comfort.
The combination of industrial and modern elements has provided distinction, giving value to the original structure and fulfilling the wishes and needs that Rita had from the beginning.
Thus, the renovation has not only transformed the physical space, but also significantly improved the quality of life in the home, merging contemporary aesthetics with comfort.
