In Studio by Clikalia we encounter projects of all kinds. The most common are those in which the client asks us to start from scratch, making the most of every square meter to create a space that suits their needs and lifestyle. In others, for example, a total renovation is also required, but the client asks us to keep some of the rooms as they are in origin, as in this case.
The Monturiol Project has been a project that sought a total renovation and a better optimization of spaces, but the client had two very specific requests: to create a more functional kitchen, since he likes cooking very much; and that, living with his grandparents, their bedroom should not change more than necessary and keep the same distribution. Said and done!
The house originally had three bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom. What did we do? Mainly we gave the living room a greater amplitude by adding the space of a third adjoining room, as it was a somewhat underutilized room. This allowed us to create a more diaphanous living room with more natural light, dining room and living room.
Another of the key spaces of the reform was the kitchen, as we advanced earlier. Here we took advantage of the space that gave us the gallery, which in many homes remains as a space of indeterminate use, to integrate it elegantly with the rest of the room, creating a very cozy corner. To achieve this effect, we opted for a hydraulic design porcelain floor and integrate its decoration and furniture with the style of the kitchen.
As for the grandparents' bedroom, we kept its distribution as requested by the client. We did renew its aesthetics so that it would be in harmony with the rest of the style of the house.
Finally, let's talk about the decoration and finishes. We chose to keep its classic style, but adding some modern details in some objects. We also used rustic tiles, wood laminate flooring and elegant golden handles on the faucets that enhance the classic style of the house.
