Developed inside an emblematic building by the Catalan architect Antoni Moragás, this renovation project has the essential objective of recovering the spirit of the original work.

This is a coquettish house located in the Sant Gervasi-Galvany neighborhood of Barcelona, in which we have created a beautiful dialogue between past and present, leaving in view the materials of which the building is composed (concrete and brick), combining them with the new ones, forming a contemporary palimpsest that brings great personality to the property.

Maria, the owner, originally had a very compartmentalized space that made it difficult to move around the house. Therefore, we decided to propose a new distribution so that the occupants can move fluidly through the building along a path that presents the nature of the house, culminating in a large day space that projects towards the street through the window.

To generate a feeling of spaciousness, we have strategically installed several glass doors that act as room dividers. One of them in the study at the entrance to be able to make it independent in a timely manner, allowing the light that floods the room to also benefit the en-suite bathroom.

In this sense, as the house has good natural light coming from its main facade, we have sought to move the key spaces towards it, integrating the balcony in the renovated day area to enhance the brightness.

Thanks to a careful renovation, Maria now enjoys a home that masterfully harmonizes respect for the architectural heritage with modern needs for comfort and style. The new layout has not only improved circulation, eliminating the previous barriers that fragmented the home, but has also enhanced the feeling of space and flow.

Natural light bathes every corner of your home today, enhancing the beauty of the original materials and contemporary touches. A balance between old and new makes this home a living space, where history and modernity coexist in perfect synergy.
