There are renovation projects that have a star space that shines with its own light. This house, located in the vibrant neighborhood of El Poblenou (Barcelona), is one of them. Because the kitchen of this apartment is undoubtedly the heart of the house. All eyes go there, and no wonder: the transformation of a narrow and originally watertight space into something completely new, bright and practical, is one of the reasons why we have decided to highlight this project.

Kitchen with or without an island: pros and cons

Just by looking at the photos it is clear why the kitchen is the main protagonist of the reform. The owners are passionate about the kitchen and were looking for a space that would allow them to have width and waist to cook comfortably and that, in addition, was open and connected to the living-dining room so that communication between the rooms was total. The result is a Nordic style kitchen, yes, but with a unique and unrepeatable personality.

The most striking feature is the peninsula of more than 5 meters long that integrates, in a natural and organic way, an elegant Calacatta Gold marble bar, with golden and gray veins, and a spectacular oval-shaped dining table with a wood finish that adds a touch of warmth. Because if there is one thing that this combination of materials proves once again, it is that nothing goes better than hardwood and marble.

But the little big details are not limited to the peninsula. The storage cabinets, as well as the appliances, are carefully selected so that everything matches harmoniously with the rest of the kitchen elements. Also the lighting, whose strategic placement in the false ceiling and the marble bar is very well thought out to provide the kitchen with an indirect and welcoming light.

The rest of the house is not far behind. It has three bedrooms, one double with en-suite bathroom and two singles, which offer enough space and comfort for a family of four. The two bathrooms share the same style: walls with a natural stone-colored and textured porcelain tile that, thanks to the indirect LED lights, enhance all its beauty. In addition, the kitchen and living room also incorporate a practical and cozy office space, which maintains its independence and privacy thanks to the excellent design of our architects and interior designers.

At Studio by Clikalia we couldn't be prouder of this project. We would be contemplating the kitchen in aeternum. If to this we add that through its large window you can clearly see the horizon and the sea, few places we can think of that transmit more peace, style and elegance.
