Marcos' house had a poor layout, it was very dark and there was no connection between the living room and the rest of the house, something that is quite uncomfortable in these times.

This is a very attractive project in every sense. A nod to the past in which the idea has been to modernise the building without losing the essence of what we wanted to convey from the beginning: to achieve a captivating style that recovers key elements of industrial Barcelona.

The goal of this project was to maximize the identity offered by the surroundings, near Palo Alto and the beach, to create a striking and welcoming home that seamlessly integrates elements characteristic of both the present and the past of this very special neighborhood.

To achieve this, we began by converting the small, confined rooms that the house originally had into much more spacious areas filled with natural light. This allowed us to create a truly functional living area, integrating the kitchen, dining room, and living room into a single space.

The open kitchen allows for parallel coexistence between both spaces, enriching the daily experience of its inhabitants.

As for the exterior carpentry, the existing geometries have been respected in order to make the most of the incoming light.

Inside, we have incorporated sliding doors in the bedrooms to maximize space and also glass sliding doors to create a more contemporary connection with the rooms.

And when it comes to artificial lighting, we have designed point suspended light points for family gathering areas combined with indirect lighting zones to create relaxing atmospheres.
